Translation Commons has created a multilingual poster creation tool containing the five basic saftey instructions from the World Health Organization (WHO) in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. Communities from all around the world responded coming forward with academics, linguists or other educated people to translate the poster into their language for the benefit of the people, resulting in the creation of posters in 300 languages, for many of which, it was the first reliable COVID-19 information available.

A new audio feature of the poster-maker allows the information to be accessed by many more people who may be visually impared or unable to read in their language, while an interactive map available in our website enables easy tracking of the poster in the native language of any country in the world. With timely community input, this powerful tool may grow in over 6,000 languages, especially in under-served communities.
